Classic Sailing Yachts

154' Ketch - Asolare (ex. Scheherazade)

The best technologies of the past and future were combined to create 154-foot (47 meter) Asolare (ex. Scheherazade). Designed by Bruce King Yacht Design without portholes so the exterior could exist as a continuous hull form, she’s a beautiful and highly powerful sailing yacht. Hand-crafted details were blended with state-of-the-art construction and technology; virtually all of the yacht’s functions are controlled using touch screens and joysticks.

Flawless Interior

Every detail of the Winch Designs designed interior was carefully considered and crafted. The furniture features harlequin bookmatched fiddle back sycamore panels cored for weight reduction and structural stability. All of the exquisite interior joinery was hand crafted at Hodgdon Interiors, the company’s division that builds Superyacht interiors for Hodgdon and other shipyards around the world.

Salvaged Timber

The hull and frames of Asolare were made from more than 600 year old Douglas fir and 300 year old western red cedar trees. Because of environmental concerns for old growth forests, most of the timber used came from trees that had fallen through natural causes or were at the end of their natural life cycles. The older wood ensures strength and quality of the grain.

Luxurious Accommodations

A circular hallway is surrounded by four curved doorways – each with a unique carving – creating a rotunda. The first and second doors lead to the guest staterooms with ensuite heads. The third door leads to the galley and crew quarters, and a linen closet can be found behind the final door.

"Scheherazade is not only an exceptional example of yacht building, she is probably one of the finest examples of what our industry stands for, a true labour of love for all who participate."

The Yacht Report

"Scheherazade is a work of art on a grand scale – a tribute to those who conceived her, designed her and finally built her."

Hand-carved Details

Throughout the boat, there are hundreds of individually hand-carved sea motifs decorations, each from a solid block of decorative wood. The cabinets have burled walnut tops and a unifying molding, beautifully accented with Rose Gold plated hardware.

Spacious Accommodations

The owner’s stateroom is complete with settees, shelves, and plenty of storage space. Forward of that are heads on the port and starboard sides, and forward again are two offices.

Aesthetic Styling
